Crawfords is fully committed to sustainability and this guiding principle runs through to our employees, customers, suppliers and environmental regulators. Our mission is to encourage the transition to renewable energy and away from fossil fuels. A fossil fuel is hydro-carbon material formed millions of years ago from fossilized plant and animal life and may be burned to generate heat and electricity. Currently, they are the leading cause of climate change and cause serious environmental effects because of the large amounts of CO2 they release into the air. Research has shown that electric vehicles are more environmentally friendly than diesel cars. On average, they omit 50% less greenhouse gasses and air pollutants conserving the use of natural resources.
We are thinking about our own ability to reduce carbon emissions and help build the kind of world we want to live in. Our guiding philosophy is to integrate sustainable practices into our fleet and office spaces and be a force for good in the challenge of tackling decarbonisation. Over the last five years, we have transitioned our passenger car fleet to either hybrid or electric vehicles, and by 2025, we aim to have a fully electric fleet, including our courier vans.
Additionally, we have started to implement lower-carbon technologies, such as inkjet printers (instead of toner printers) to cut down the overall energy consumption and waste generation levels. We use PEFC certified paper from sustainably managed forests and encourage all of our employees to fundraise and help local communities and charities in the green sectors. We value education, awareness, and communication and uphold a model with transparency along the supply chain.
We advocate for the use of sustainable transport for staff traveling to and from work and consider environmental criteria when purchasing office goods.
We’re devoted to making better choices within our company, so we can help design a more sustainable future.
The Crawfords team will assess the environmental impacts of our operations and set objectives and targets in order to improve our environmental performance. We will regularly review these targets.
