We are writing to let you know about the introduction of a temporary fuel surcharge on our van services effective from October 19th 2026.
As you will no doubt be aware, recent events outside of our control have resulted in a significant and rapid increase in the cost of diesel. These increases are placing considerable additional financial pressure on our self-employed drivers, who are responsible for their own fuel costs and are currently absorbing substantially higher weekly operating expenses simply to carry out the same work.
We have resisted passing on additional costs wherever possible. However, given the scale of the recent increase in fuel prices, we believe it is important that we provide some support to our drivers while these exceptional market conditions continue.
We will therefore be introducing the following temporary fuel surcharge:
Small Van / Express Van: £1.50 per job
Transit Van: £2.50 per job
Luton Van: £3.50 per job
The surcharge is specifically intended to help offset the additional fuel costs currently being borne by our drivers.
Importantly, this is not intended to be a permanent increase.
We will review the surcharge every week, considering the published UK average diesel price and prevailing market conditions.
We recognise that nobody welcomes additional costs, and this is not a decision we have taken lightly. However, we believe this is the fairest and most transparent way of responding to an exceptional increase in a cost that directly affects the people carrying out your deliveries.
